A Winters Night at the Indianapolis Zoo
The local Indianapolis Zoo is getting ready for the Holiday Season with their “Christmas at the Zoo” celebration!
The Zoo in the winter is great especially when the zoo is lit up with lights for Christmas. We where able to meet the penguins, visit the baby orangutan on his 7th Birthday and visit many of the exhibits. It’s always really neat to see the zoo at night along with visiting Santa’s Village and sipping on a hot chocolate throughout the night.
Santa’s Village and Christmas at the Zoo Highlights:
- Photo with Santa Clause
- Mrs. Claus’ Kitchen with lots of treats
- Santa’s Barn where you can visit Santa’s Reindeer and sit in his sleigh
- Polar Pathway where you can walk through a lighted tunnel
- Penguin Encounter where you can see the penguins up close
- Tinsel Tavern – holiday themed cocktails
- Snowflakery Mirror Maze
- Many different opportunities to take Instagram-able photos in props around the zoo
Due to the colder weather, not all animals will be out at the zoo but it’s still an amazing experience for you, your friends and family. A great way to make holiday memories with everyone. Even you aren’t in Indianapolis to see the Indy Zoo, seek out your local zoo and see if they have a Holiday celebration as well.
